Julia Wright
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and have been working for the last 25 years within the field of mental wellbeing. I hold Registered member status of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I have an accredited Bsc Hons degree in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Sherwood Institute (SPTI) in Nottingham.
My Approach & Experience
Humanistic and Integrative Counselling
I offer a client centred approach based on respect, empathy and honesty. My role is to support you in exploring the reasons you are seeking therapy, within a non-judgemental environment. By creating a safe, open and genuine relationship with you, we can together find ways to deal with the difficulties you are experiencing. This can lead to you becoming more confident, empowered and self-fulfilled when dealing with life's challenges.
The therapy room I have chosen also embodies the importance of creating a warm, tranquil and relaxed space in which to feel safe in exploring the issues that have brought you to therapy.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold an Honours Degree in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, following three years of training at the highly-respected Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI: http://www.spti.net/) in Nottingham.
This is a course that is fully accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP: http://www.bacp.co.uk/).
I am also a registered member of the BACP, and am guided by, and adhere to, their ethical framework.
I have previously qualified as a social worker, underwent trauma management and stress management training during my role with the Police, and hold a degree in business (from an earlier stage of my life!).
